They transform WordPress into a very powerful, simple and effective Content Management System by going beyond what is offered out of the box.
And then we have custom fields. They are alongside custom post types, the one-two combination of what makes WordPress such a great content management system. They are, in a nutshell, data that can be added to a post, page, or a custom post type.
