Your Joomla site may have products or services that you want to advertise on Facebook. In order to do this, you have to install and configure Facebook Pixel in Joomla.
What is Facebook Pixel?
Simply put, Facebook Pixel is a code snippet from Facebook that will allow you to track and improve your ad conversions.
You basically create a Facebook Ad to advertise any of your products or services that you have running on your Joomla site or blog. You then add the Joomla Facebook Pixel code into your website.
When this is done, Facebook will start tracking your ads and you can take steps to improve conversion rates.
In order to easily do this, we are going to need to use a solid Joomla Facebook Pixel plugin. Let’s take a look at how you can easily add Facebook Pixel to Joomla.
Eorisis: Facebook Pixel
In order to easily add Facebook Pixel in Joomla, I have found a great Joomla Facebook Pixel plugin called Eorisis: Facebook Pixel. This is a totally free to use, GDPR compliant Joomla extension that will allow you to measure, optimize, and build audiences for your advertising campaigns.
The extension is full of features. But perhaps the most user-friendly feature that Eorisis gives you is that there is no need to copy and paste Facebook code.
The plugin works differently.
Let’s take a look at how to install it and configure it for use.
Install and Activate Eorisis: Facebook Pixel
In order to use the Eorisis: Facebook Pixel extension to track ads and improve conversions in Joomla, it first needs to be installed and activated. You can do this by downloading it off the extension homepage onto your machine.
When you click on the download button, you will be taken to the Eorisis main page. Remember, the extension is free to use but you will have to create an account. Go ahead and follow the steps to account creation and download the extension to your machine.
Note: You will receive an email link for confirmation, so follow that to your download.
Once you have downloaded the extension to your computer, go ahead and drag-and-drop it into the file upload box located in your Joomla control panel area.
Note: You can also browse for the file and upload it that way if you prefer. Joomla also gives options to install from a folder or from URL, but the process below is easiest.
Once the extension has been installed you will get a thank you message as well as a box telling you the extension was successfully installed.
Now that the extension has been installed you have to activate it.
On the top menu bar click on Extensions > Plugins.
Search for the Eorisis: Facebook Pixel plugin you just installed.
If it has a red circle with a white “x” in it, click the icon to activate the plugin. If the icon has a green checkmark, it means it’s already activated and the extension is live on the site.
Now click on the live “System: Eorisis: Facebook Pixel” link to access the configuration for the plugin.
Add Facebook Pixel to Joomla
Once on the configuration page for the Joomla Facebook Pixel plugin, you will see some tabs. These include:
- Plugin
- Tracking
- Advanced
- Updates
Let’s run through these real quick so you can see what they all do.

Note: You have to insert the Pixel ID listed in the Ads Manager > Events Manager of your Facebook account. Insert it in the Pixel ID field and save. Otherwise the extension will not execute.
