The MySQL hostname will always be ‘localhost’ in your configuration files. If you need to connect to your database from your home PC, use your primary domain name or the server name that can be found in your account signup email.
To connect to your MySQL database remotely, please see Allowing Remote MySQL Access for more information.
What is the MySQL hostname?
this does not appear to be complete:
When connecting to our MySQL servers remotely, you will have to add your external hostname in the permissions. Please see http://ENTERLINKHERE for more information on this.
Hello Chrissy,
Apologize for that, mistake by our web team. The hostname is your domain name or server name. Here’s the correct link: https://greengeeks.com/support/article/allowing-remote-mysql-access/
page not found on Kaumil’s response.
Also for accessing with remote tools to mysql, how do we determine the connection hostname after we have allowed remote access host?
Thanks
