Recently, we’ve been seeing an increase of an e-mail phishing attempts pretending to be eNom and other domain registrars. So we thought we would make a public service announcement to warn our customers and others of the attack on-going across the Internet.
The attack seems to be a “spear phishing attempt”, which mentions specific domain names related to you instead of just random domain names/information. The e-mail also includes a downloadable file and the phone number on the email is invalid.
Please note, GreenGeeks/Enom does not send any downloadable files in their notices and if you’re unsure, our phone number can always be found at the top of our website.
How can I protect myself against issues such as these?
With GreenGeeks, for your protection we verify the authenticity of the account holder before making any changes to your account.
